Finance your race

Seeking finance for your waiters race is essential. Organizing a race can be expensive and finding funds to produce the event is imperative. It is recommended to prepare a detailed budget checklist to manage your expenses. The list below refers to the general group of supporters that can help finance your race. However, this list is not exhaustive and you should use all available sources at your disposal.

    Registration fees

Many waiters races do not ask for fees by competitors involved in the race. But many times, registration fees are requested from local businesses that would like to get involved in the race. Registration fees by local businesses are considered as advertising expenses. By paying, they get the opportunity to advertise their name and product during the day of the race.

    Sponsors

Sponsors are the biggest source of funding for waiters races. As described in the production documents section, this event offers many opportunities to get companies involved in a race. Of course, the amount paid for a title sponsor package or advertising on a waiters race depends upon the expected size of the organizer’s race. Some of the races gather thousands of people and appears in the media as a main event of the year. This is the case for waiters races held in Buenos Aires and Brussels, where races there manage to bring in major companies and sponsors to fund the event.

    Vendors and exhibitors

A waiters race is a friendly and fun party in the street for the local community. People come there to enjoy time with their friends and family and are there to spend money to try the local food and products on display, while enjoying the fun natured event. Organizers need to utilize this opportunity to setup special areas where vendors and companies can exhibit their newest products to the community.
